Selong Selo Resort continues to remain closed as we ride the global wave of the pandemic. Think of waves as a metaphor for change. Some waves are little more than ripples in the water. Other waves are powerful and have potential to effect change on anything in their path. We could say that of COVID-19 and its impact felt by many people, businesses and industries. Yet we cannot stop waves (change), but we can adapt. That is what Selo Group has, and continues to do as we develop our resort and project offerings.
Despite all, we are seeing opportunistic buyers taking advantage of our recent discount offerings with some strong sales last month. Surf’s up! COVID-19 is a “buyer’s market” for those positioned to invest. With buyers (and guests alike) still believing in the Lombok growth story into 2021 and the several positive catalysts; they are now looking for land and/or private villas to enjoy less-crowded holiday experiences, and with the added benefit of capital appreciation and rental yield once we reopen. Luxury Less Travelled is not just our tagline – it’s an escape to paradise without the masses. Check out the section on our Luxury Surf Villas for our End of Australian Financial Year special!
If you missed our Selo Precrafted launch last month, we share more on how you can now build your villa in paradise with a more efficient, cost-effective and sustainable construction method anywhere in Indonesia. We share the amazing community support on the ground via the SBCA (Selong Belanak Community Association). Plus our recent blog on Investing in Indonesia-It’s now much simpler than you think.

Selong Belanak Community Association’s (SBCA), of which Selo is a proud member, is a community-led organisation dedicated to eliminating plastic waste in the Selong Belanak area of Lombok. Based on zero-waste environmental principles including waste prevention, sorting, collection and recycling as well as educational programs and community outreach. But that’s not all they do. “Sembako” in Indonesian means groceries. SBCA recently rallied together an amazing group of members to raise funds and fill 120 bags of necessities such as rice, eggs, oil, corn, sugar and face masks, and distributed to the local community of Selong Belanak and Jabon area.

Did you catch our Media Release last month? Selo launched its designer precrafted villa range, Selo Precrafted Villas, in April this year bringing a more efficient, cost-effective and sustainable construction solution to Indonesia. What is precrafted? Precrafted (or prefabricated) construction is the practice of assembling a variety of components of a structure at a manufacturing site and transporting those sub-assemblies to the location of the construction jobsite. One of the benefits to this model is well aligned with Selo’s sustainability ethos, as modular construction is commended for energy efficiency and sustainable construction. With shorter construction times this method offers operational efficiencies, taking significantly less time to build than on-site construction. In many instances, precrafted takes less than half the time when compared to traditional construction.
To date, Selo’s portfolio of land and development projects are located primarily along the stunning coast of South Lombok. However the launch of Selo’s precrafted range is now possible for villas to be built in any location in Indonesia.
